About Mesa Lifestyle
What is Mesa LIFESTYLE?
“Mesa” (pronounced like Lisa with an M) is my nickname given by my eldest niece many moons ago. “Lifestyle” is the particular way I choose to live this sacred, wild life. I have lived off-grid as a working and traveling artist for nearly 10 years. I aspire to live with kindness as my driving force, in reciprocity with nature, and to do my part to keep the creative spirit alive and well within myself and my community.
My Past
Formerly, I was a very intense and highly competitive person, who lived by the "no pain, no gain" mentality. I didn't listen to my body, I didn't know rest without sleep, I believed emotions were weakness and that boundaries were selfish. I was convinced that I was so easygoing that I had no needs, so I constantly tended others’ needs. I thought that true love meant taking on responsibilities that weren’t mine. Needless to say, I had a lot to learn...
My Journey
2006 was a turning point in my life, a year that started with deep personal suffering and led to immense growth. I had just returned form perhaps the greatest adventure of my life, taking my first solo journey to explore the enchanted land of New Zealand. Quickly upon my return my world flipped upside down. Deaths, heartbreak, a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis and two knee surgeries later I was left disoriented and unable to walk for six months. During this period I embarked on perhaps the greatest inward adventure of my life. I went places internally that I had never been before and began to acknowledge the undeveloped parts of myself. The wisdom I began to cultivate during this time lead to slowly but surely dramatically improved my overall health and wellbeing, expand my emotional spectrum, enable me to fostered a deeper sense of authenticity and develop deeper compassion and empathy for all living beings.
My Present
Today, I live a healthy and fulfilling life as a working artist living in MINIMUS, my hand-built, off-grid tiny house on wheels. Bucks County, PA is where I call home but I spend quite a bit of my time traveling and exploring this majestic planet. My life is a grand and glorious, unconventional and beautiful and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
