Community Art Studio & Gallery

A place of creative, collaborative exploration. A place where you have full permission to play, make a mess and take a break from the heaviness of the world and your daily responsibilities. A place to have fun and build community.

WHATS INCLUDED:

• OPEN STUDIO HOURS
  - 10 hours of open studio time per week
  - Fridays 9am-12pm & 5-8pm, Saturdays 4-8
  - Mesa will be there for all open studio hours for creative assistance and support
  - 2 guest passes to bring a friend to a open studio session
  - There is absolutely no obligation to come to all of the open studio hours, simply come when you can

• GROUP WORKSHOPS
  - CLAY STUDIO 101: Saturday, January 3 | 4-6pm - A comprehensive overview of hand building, wheel throwing & working in a shared studio space. Feel free to stay after and apply yournew skills immediately for Open Studio hours until 8pm.
  - GLAZING & CLAY PAINT 101 : Saturday, January 17 | 4-6pm - A comprehensive overview of glazing & making and working with clay paint. Feel free to stay after for Open Studio hours until 8pm. Feel free to stay after and apply yournew skills immediately for Open Studio hours until 8pm.

• POTLUCK & SHOWCASE
  - Saturday, January 31 | 6-8pm - Invite family & friends to join us in the studio to showcase your creations and enjoy an end of session celebration together over food and drink.

• SHARED STUDIO EQUIPMENT
  - Full use of all wheels, hand building stations, tools & glazes

• PERSONAL STORAGE SPACE
  - Your own storage drawer with 10lbs of clay, an air tight container (to keep clay workable between sessions), a plywood work board, a canvas work board cover and room to store inspiration and personal tools

• FIRING OF YOUR FINISHED GLAZED POTTERY

As creatures on Earth clay is our common ground. As humans on Earth imagination is our shared trait. UNITY CLAY is an opportunity to explore this incredible medium that binds us all.

Playing with clay is built into our DNA. Our ancestors are in it–literally and figuratively, and it has the power to evoke great joy and connection. 

You may never give yourself the opportunity to enjoy the therapeutic qualities of clay because you feel like you do not have the space, money, time, energy, equipment, studio, supplies, motivation or knowledge. What if I told I could remove all of those obstacles?

For me creating is not a choice, it is a necessity and I know it is the gift I am meant to share with the world, and that is exactly why I am opening UNITY CLAY.
